Hilary Metzger教授简介

Hilary Metzger was born in New York City. She studied music history and cello with Aldo Parisot at Yale University, and received her Doctorate in Musical Arts with Timothy Eddy at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Awarded a Fulbright scholarship from the American government, she came to Paris in 1991 to study baroque cello with David Simpson and Christophe Coin, graduating with a unanimous Premier Prix at the Paris Conservatory. Laureate of the Henry Cabot Prize (Tanglewood Music Center) and the Harriet Hale Woolley Award (Unites States Foundation in France), Hilary Metzger was for six years a member of Trio Salomé which performed widely throughout Europe and the United States. Ms. Metzger performs regularly on period instruments with ensembles such as l'Orchestre des Champs Elysées, Anima Eterna, Le Concert Spirtuel, and Les Talens Lyrique. She is frequently invited to give lectures and masterclasses on specific aspects of period performance. Hilary Metzger is professor of baroque cello and culture ancienne at the Ecole National de Musique de Villeurbanne and cello professor at the Centre d'Etudes Supérieur de Musique et Danse in Poitiers.
